Fashion Night Out 2010 Will Be Held

Fashion Night Out 2010 is an annual event that brings fashion activists from various countries in New York on September 10, 2010. The event this year will be more lively than the previous year.

Apart from New York, Fashion Night Out 2010 will also be held in Los Angeles, Paris, Milan and London. In addition to the world fashion centers, Fashion Night Out 2010 will be more worldwide this year followed by some Asian countries like Japan, China, India and Taiwan.

The main purpose of the annual event which sponsored by Vogue and the CFDA is to improve the twisted world of fashion fashion both the perpetrators and fashion lovers. In addition to shopping, Fashion’s Night Out is an opportunity for people outside the fashion industry to get a glimpse into the fashion industry.

The election of September 10 is due date is the opening of New York Fashion Week, so that every fashion lovers to come to New York. Whereas those who are not allowed to go to the busiest city in the world, then Fashion Night Out 2010 was also held in 15 other countries.

Night Out this year’s fashion stores will do interesting things to attract buyers. New York : Recycled Fashion

Designers and fashion labels are now carrying eco-friendly concept for their products. So also in the design which is now dominated by environmentally-themed graphics and motifs. Now, New York will release the consumer movement through the green fashion clothing recycling program. Through this program, the New York community can donate clothing and accessories which are no longer in use.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), United States citizens cast almost as much as 5 kg of socks, denim, socks, shirts, and cloth per person per year. Meanwhile in New York carrying 190 000 tonnes of textile waste are dumped into landfills (landfill) waste in the year 2008.

To achieve these recycling plan, the City of New York will place as many as 50 baskets of clothes to be deployed in densely populated areas. Not only that, the city government is also working with a nonprofit company that will collect unused clothes from the baskets are then donated to those in need.

Goodwill Industries, one of the nonprofit company that works with the government, saying it is a creative way to reduce waste. For that, Goodwill Industries has surveyed 600 people in the United States and Canada. The more than 50 percent of respondents said they would contribute if the distance from home to where recycling is not too far away.

New York Fashion Week

What:
Designers produce fashion shows to show off their latest collections. The most recent show was in September 2009 for Spring 2010 Fashion Week. Currently, the shows are sponsored by Mercedes-Benz so they are referred to as Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. in the past, they’ve been referred to by other sponsors such as Olympus Fashion Week.
Where:
New York City in Bryant Park (42nd and Sixth), an 8-acre park that is converted to a temporary fashion arena with tents. The Fashion Week tents are huge, air-conditioned and contain several venues for the designers to show their collections. The individual venues — ranging up to almost 12,000 square feet — come complete with runway, seating for attendees, backstage areas, lighting and sound. Some fashion designers choose to have their collections shown in showrooms or other off-site venues during the week.
When:
Twice a year. The Fashion Week fall shows are held the preceding winter (February). The spring shows are held the preceding late summer (September).
Who:
Fashion shows are attended by journalists, editors, buyers, celebrities and social types. The Fashion Week shows are invitation-only and each fashion designer is responsible for the guest list. Journalists must seek accreditation prior to the event.
Why:
Fashion Week is an excellent opportunity for American (and a few international) designers — ranging from Oscar de la Renta to Zac Posen — to show off their upcoming collections. The fashion shows are often entertaining, accompanied by loud, mood-setting music and changing lighting. The press writes about and photographs the runway collections for newspapers, magazines, internet and television so the general public can see what is going on in fashion.
History:
Fashion Week is produced by 7th on Sixth, which was originally formed by the Council of Fashion Designers of America in 1993, then acquired by IMG — a lifestyle and sports marketing and management firm — in 2001.
