Supposedly, it took years or months to get the materials together just to make the watch. The details of the actual watch’s construction is, however, somewhat hazy. It is rumored to have had its case constructed of Rhodium – the rarest and most precious metal/element known on the earth. Supposedly, when you make only one watch of a kind – you can assume that everybody will guess that it was made of extremely rare material. The watch was supposedly valued at about one million dollars US. A Harry Winston fake watch may be obtained for a few less zeroes.
It goes without saying that you may run into supply problems, therefore, if you desire to shop for a Galatee. You may also run into shortages of the replica watches of the esteemed jeweler. A fair sized and still available collection is the MW “Harry Winston Ladies Avenue C Chrono Rose Gold Watch 33” which comes in a variety of models. As the name says, the rectangular case and hinges are in “rose gold” plate. The dial is mostly white with “Harry Winston” and the “12” in black. The rest of the hour markers are indicated by pared batons.
The cases are all set with 44 faux diamonds of all the same size. Less attention to detail is paid to the hour, minute and second hands – these look rather plain for an HW. The same goes for the three sub-dials on the main face – they appear in all quadrants except the top and you can’t read any detail into them. Fortunately, they do have tiny working hands.
